Aaron von Frank is a food explorer, seed & soil geek, duck evangelist, writer, health nut, and entrepreneur.
Aaron is farm manager at Oak Hill Cafe & Farm in Greenville, SC. Oak Hill’s farm practices intensive, no-till, permaculture methods, serving the on-site farm-to-table restaurant run by Chef David Porras and Lori Nelsen. Oak Hill is located right down the street from both Tyrant Farms and Aaron’s alma mater, Furman University (Aaron’s earned a B.A. in Political Science).
In addition to their collaboration on Tyrant Farms, Aaron and his wife, Susan, are cofounders of GrowJourney.com, a USDA certified organic seed & gardening education company. Aaron is also a professional writer for various food and tech-related organizations including Edible Upcountry Magazine, WordPress.com, Healthy Minds, Daily Harvest Express, and others.
Aaron also serves on the board of the Diversified Agriculture Committee for the South Carolina Farm Bureau, which aims to help provide a voice and create public policy to assist small, diversified, local farms throughout South Carolina.
